Bristol’s Colston Hall, will come alive as the Britten celebrations start with a collaborative Friday Afternoons performance, with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Youth Chorus and 1913 school children from 39 schools, from 6 regions in the South West. Together they will perform the enchanting pieces conducted by BSO’s Principal Conductor, Kirill Karabits, and will be presented by BSO’s Chief Executive, Dougie Scarfe. 1913 school children performing from the South West is representative of the centenary of Britten’s birth 1913 -2013. 2pm followed by a BSO concert of Britten and Friends at 7.30pm.
