Ryedale School Year 7 and 8s

Details About the Event

‚ÄčOn Friday 22nd November 2013, all of Year 7 and 8 are coming together, with help from a group of Year 9s, to sing Benjamin Britten's Friday Afternoons. These twelve songs, written for school children between 1933-1935, explored a variety of different musical styles and texts, and have proved great fun to sing. The attitude of everyone who has joined in has been great, and we are all looking forward to singing along. Over 100,000 school children are participating in this project, from all over the world, and it is a fantastic way to celebrate the centenary of arguably the most important composer from the British Isles in the C20th. Sing well everyone!
